1. I took 4 GMAT Prep test and my scores are 590-600-600-600. Phoebe said I might have reached the bottleneck and I should look for a breakthrough.

So here I am, typing a post to organize my thoughts. For math section, I still need to improve on proportion, ratio and combination. For verbal section, I need to focus on critical reasoning.

Between math and verbal, I am generally doing better on math, which is a good thing because the prof at UH told me that the program wants to see if students are able to tackle math.

Five more days to go…if you have taken the GMAT or if you are prepaing for it, tips and strategies will be super highly appreciated. If not, I want your moral support of course. :D

  2. Detour from truth

I hope it will be worth it.
I hope one day I won’t look back and laugh at this 24-year-old, head-over-heels self. Or since i have chosen the route, I better block all the second thoughts. Since I am taking GMAT in one week I better go to sleep or do math now.

  3. I don’t like the idea of studying on a sunny Friday. So mad that I can turn my pencil into a weapon.

    More Facts on Psychofacts :)

True, which is why doing math at 3:00am can be so exciting sometimes.

  5. E-mail to the family

Hi math geniuses (Dad and Jacqueline only),

(Noted: Mum is cc’ed in this because I especially want her to know how hard I am trying in order to get a high score on GMAT. )

I need help on this kind of probability questions:
    1) A coin is tossed 6 times, what is the chance of getting EXACTLY 2 heads?

    2) A coin is tossed 6 times, what is the chance of getting AT LEAST 2 heads?

    3) A coin is tossed 6 times, what is the chance of getting LESS THAN 2 heads?

I already know the way to calculate the first one. I need someone to give me a clear concept on dealing with this kind of questions.

  6. GMAT test date registered: Sept 7

I better do well on it so I don’t need to pay for another $250 test fee.

  7. Beginning of another week

I suck at planning ahead and definitely fail when it comes to fixing my sleeping schedule. I planned on doing some reading before bedtime (12am) last night but I ended up hooked on some juicy Chinese historical stories. In the end, I went to bed at 5am and woke up at 12noon. Normally not a problem if I am just doing my own things at home working around my clock. But not for this week.

I have to go to Kaplan study center to fullfill my study hours. Also, I picked up a freelance story on some event coverage that was due this weekend. BUT, the editor just asked if I could finish it by tomorrow night. Well, I know her in personal and feel like I need to say yes because we both know how demanding and difficult her boss is.

Time to go get stuff done. Go, GO NOW, Jocelyn.
